And yes, that's me on the right, pointing awkwardly at this paragraph. (If you're on a phone, I'm hidden. Lucky you.)
I specialise in branding, web design & web development, working with clients across the UK and internationally. My goal is to help you communicate effectively with your target market and ultimately help you achieve your long-term business and brand objectives.
I see myself as a hybrid, being able to work on the visual and functional aspects of a project, whether it's developing a brand or building a data driven website. My belief is that design and development should work in unison, and not be seen as two separate disciplines.
If you like my approach and have a project in mind, send me an enquiry and I'll respond as soon as I can. You can also find out more about how I work in the FAQs section.
Interested in hiring me for your next project?
Simply fill out the information below and I'll be in touch very soon.
Yes, although my core offering will always be brand development, web design and web development. I do a lot of general graphic design for existing clients, high fidelity web page design and I also build quite a few responsive HTML emails each month. If you have a particular requirement and think I might be the right person for the job, feel free to ask.
Brand identity projects typically take between 4-8 weeks, depending on the scope of the project and available budget. Occasionally I get requests to complete projects sooner than this, and I'm happy to oblige, but I tend to find that the best results come when I'm able to spend more time on research and brainstorming. Web projects are a little trickier to pin down, as a simple brochure site may only take 2-3 weeks, but a complex web application may take 6 months + to complete. Always best to talk to me about timescales if you have a set deadline.
I'm very transparent when it comes to payment. Every project requires a minimum 50% deposit prior to commencement. The remaining balance is due on completion, before any artwork files are released / before your website goes live. On larger projects (£10k +), I'm happy to split the total into 3 equal instalments spread over the duration of the project. If you're hiring me on a day rate I require full payment at the time of booking to secure the date.
Simple. Fill out the form above and tell me about your project. I usually respond within 24 hours. Once we've had an initial chat, I'll present you with a proposal which highlights costs and timescales. The proposal needs to be signed and deposit paid before I can progress further. For brand and web projects, I have a series of questions that helps me extract the information I need in order to make a start on your project. The more information you can provide at this stage, the better I will understand your goals and objectives, which in turn will reduce the time it takes to complete your project.
Speak to a Uni is an education event listing website, helping students discover when university events are happening on campus, overseas or online.
This project included development of the brand identity and associated brand collateral, as well as the design and build of a bespoke, search driven website.
The website fills a gap for students and universities alike, in that it focuses specifically on promoting open days and events, searchable by subject, location or university.
I decided to work with Sun Jones because they took the time to get to know me, grill me a little further on my original brief and come up with a proposal that was realistic compared to some other suppliers.
Sun Jones helped me by creating my brand from scratch, everything from the colour scheme to the logo to the website. The result was just what I was looking for; clean, bright and bold. And, although it was hard to make decisions at times, Sun Jones were patient with me and supported me through some big decisions for my small business.
One thing I really liked was their planning process, being clear about what was going to be delivered and when. This approach managed my expectations and helped me understand the steps we had to go through to meet deadlines. I found the experience to be really smooth, I felt confident in them so it was exciting to receive designs and see my business idea come to life. They've bent over backwards to meet my deadline so I'll be eternally thankful to them and on a personal level they are a really friendly bunch to work with.
I would recommend Sun Jones to everyone! If you need support in producing a visual asset for your business, no matter how big or small, you'll be in safe hands.

World Challenge Coins are one of the UK’s leading producers of custom-made medals, coins and commemoratives. They pride themselves on being able to make just about any bespoke designed medal that their customers want. I was tasked with updating their brand and website following a change in structure to their parent company.
Capitalising on the increasing popularity of e-liquids, Steamin' Guns is a Western themed brand featuring a group of illustrated characters, each of which represents a unique flavour in the range. This has been an extensive project, working on many aspects of the brand, product packaging and continued marketing.
Flat Fee Recruiter specialise in low, fixed cost recruitment advertising aimed at businesses of all sizes and industries. This project involved working on-site with the client over a number of months to enhance their existing brand and bring their family of characters to life.
We were looking for a company that could help us add more substance and visual appeal to the Flat Fee Recruiter brand, as well as overhaul the design of the website. After having an initial meeting with Sun Jones we decided they were the right fit for us. They helped us develop a family of illustrated characters which added a touch of humour to the brand and created a selection of illustrated brand assets that could be used for future marketing requirements. The characters feature prominently throughout the new website and aid in segmenting the wealth of content available. Since going live with the updated brand and website we’ve had some great feedback. We’re really pleased with the work carried out by Sun Jones and will continue to work with them in the future.

Koin Limited is the parent company behind both World Challenge Coins and The Koin Club. I redesigned the Koin Limited website following changes to the company structure and the addition of The Koin Club. The project involved designing a new logo for The Koin Club and creating bespoke pages for each section of the Koin Limited website.
Pastel Sixteen are an online fashion retailer, selling a unique range of products available in 16 different colours, each one specific to a famous city. My challenge was to refine the brand guidelines and design the Pastel Sixteen website. I was also responsible for designing all of the transactional and promotional emails automated via the website.
David has a great creative eye and has the ability to take a brief and interpret it with very little intervention. He always ensures he delivers in line with expectations whilst being up-to-date with the latest trends to inform design ideas and suggestions. He is reliable, always enthused and very easy to work with.

Arxell, formerly Drycell, specialise in the manufacture of modular drying units designed to decrease the time it takes to dry an area affected by flooding. My challenge was to redevelop the brand from the ground up, starting with the brand name before moving on to the visual identity and marketing collateral.
School of Sew offer sewing lessons and experiences to people of all ages and abilities. My challenge was to come up with something that could help the business break away from the stereotypical old fashioned view of sewing and instead, position it as a forward thinking brand that helps individuals to socialise and develop new skills in the process.
Beyond Flooring specialise in supplying and fitting designer hard-wood flooring and carpets. Following a series of brand workshops, my challenge was to create an identity which would reflect the company's passion for going beyond customer expectations and innovating new ways to make the buying experience more enjoyable.
The whole team are absolutely thrilled with the results and the feedback we’ve had from our customers has been overwhelming. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sun Jones. Their professionalism and attention to detail are second to none.

Opportunity Marketing supports SMEs with their strategic marketing requirements. Working closely with the founder of the franchise, I designed and built the customer facing Opportunity Marketing website and additionally, the franchise website. I've also designed various pieces of collateral including the company price guide and marketing emails.
Sun Jones undertook a double project for Opportunity Marketing virtually simultaneously in setting up two websites for two different sides to the business. I know how difficult and painful it can be creating one website, so to undertake two at once was a big ask. I chose Sun Jones because I had worked with David before on client projects and enjoyed working with him and I know he works tirelessly to ensure the job is completed to the client's satisfaction. He also has a knack of taking a brief and creating an impactful visual communication of this (albeit with a few minor tweaks). Both sites went live on schedule and immediately started to generate the results I had hoped for - an upturn in enquiries. I was delighted with the service I received from Sun Jones, which is why I have continued to be an ongoing client for them and have also referred other projects to them. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
